Mīere Mānuka - Mānuka Honey 90+ MGO

FREE SHIPPING TO AOTEAROA!

Delicious mīere (honey) from the pristine shores of Kapiti Island.

This limited harvest of Mānuka honey from Kapiti Island comes with the unique properties of Mānuka honey and a delicious, unique flavour. It's our highest Mānuka rated mīere yet.

Our 2020 vintage has a distinctive Mānuka honey taste from the flowers of the native New Zealand Mānuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium). Notes from the ancient Pōhutukawa trees lining the shore of the island are finished with the buttery aftertaste of nectar from the Kamahi tree.

In days past, our tūpuna Māori, (Māori ancestors) used the Mānuka bush in a range of ways. The leaves were boiled to make tonic and tea, the seed pods were chewed for various stomach ailments and the gum was used in a salve for scalds and burns.

The strong boughs of the Mānuka were used in hoe (paddles), and waka (canoe) flooring. Saplings were used to make eel traps and whitebait nets and much more. Our old people knew the benefits of the Mānuka on the island and we've collected a taste of that goodness for you.

Great for your tinana (body) and wairua (spirit)!

Our Mānuka honey is independently tested by an IANZ certified lab to contain MGO levels of at least 90mg/kg

MGO is the main antibacterial sought after in Mānuka Honey. That’s the equivalent of around 5 UMF (a common Mānuka Honey rating).

Every jar of our Mānuka honey is 100% pure, natural New Zealand honey, and collected from Kapiti Island.

Top 3 pollen count.

These three rākau (trees) make up the majority of the pollen count:

  • Crystallisation

Please note: our honey is natural and may crystallize, especially during the autumn and winter months. This is completely normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong with the honey. If you don't love the crunch as much as we do, try gently heating the honey until it liquifies

  • Refunds and returns

We will happily accept unopened returns. If for some reason you change your mind about your purchase, let us know and we'll refund the purchase price

  • Whenua First

All postage and packaging for our kai is recyclable, reusable, or compostable. We pay extra to make this true because that's part of our role as kaitiaki on the island and papatūānuku as a whole. Please do your part and reuse or recycle the jars. Our labeling is also compostable, but we hope you'll reuse the jars and give them a second life.
